Working with Straw: An Introduction

An Introductory Workshop to Straw Plaiting

During this course you will learn a little of the history of straw craft, harvest traditions and the hat trade, through to the decorative uses of today.

You will learn how to prepare the heritage long wheat straw that will be used during the day, and make several decorated items to take home.

No previous experience necessary.

There will be a short lunch break; please bring a packed lunch or you can purchase refreshments from our catering outlet in Skippings Barn.

Length of workshop: 10:30am - 3:30pm
