Support Our Mission
Chiltern Open Air Museum has been a vital community resource for over 40 years, preserving historic buildings and immersing visitors in the past. While admissions, our shop, and café contribute to daily operations, they fall short for essential tasks like reconstructing buildings, conducting repairs (such as thatching), community projects, and navigating future challenges.
Your donations, regardless of size, play a crucial role in sustaining our conservation efforts and securing our status as a community asset. By supporting us, you contribute to the ongoing success of Chiltern Open Air Museum and help us continue our mission to bring history to life.

Ways of Giving
Legacies & Wills
A legacy or bequest is a generous gift in your Will, and there are various ways to support Chiltern Open Air Museum through this meaningful contribution. Unrestricted legacies, including residuary, pecuniary, reversionary, and specific legacies, provide flexibility for the Museum to allocate your gift where it's needed most.
Residuary: A share or the remainder of your estate after other commitments.
Pecuniary: A fixed cash sum, optionally index-linked to inflation.
Reversionary: Ensures your loved ones are provided for before the Museum benefits.
Specific: Includes royalties, stocks, shares, and objects for the Museum's collection.
It's crucial to consult a qualified legal advisor when preparing or amending your Will, and The Law Society can help you find a suitable solicitor.
Honoring Loved Ones through Memorial Gifts
In the wake of losing a loved one, honoring their memory with a gift to Chiltern Open Air Museum holds special significance. Your contribution can serve as a meaningful remembrance for someone who cherished the Museum. Whether through dedicated donations or by requesting contributions instead of flowers at a funeral, these legacies are duly recognised in our Museum's Book of Remembrance.
Rest assured, your legacy will play a pivotal role in preserving the enriching and culturally significant heritage of Chiltern Open Air Museum, leaving a lasting impact for generations to come.
