Lady Howe Visits Chiltern Open Air Museum
Our Patron, Countess Howe His Majesty’s Lord-Leutenant of Buckinghamshire, hosted a Midsummer Gathering at the Museum in June. It was a wonderful opportunity to gather with Museum supporters and friends to reflect on our achievements over the past 45 years and to hear about future plans, including the re-erection of the Finsbury Circus Bandstand at the Museum and repairs to our Victorian Toll House.
On what was a perfect Summer's evening, guests enjoyed seeing our beautiful gardens and learning about our heritage buildings & community support work. Music was provided by critically acclaimed Vache Baroque and food made with local produce was provided by The Happy Pickle.
As a self-funded charity, we rely on our supporters, visitors and volunteers to keep our doors open. Along with preserving the unique heritage of the Chilterns, the Museum also sources grants to provide open access to disadvantaged groups and run our award-winning community wellbeing programmes.
