Chiltern Open Air Museum is an outdoor museum in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire, set within the beautiful Chilterns countryside. We are home to over 30 rescued historic buildings including: a 1940s Prefab, Victorian toll house, blacksmith’s forge, Iron Age roundhouse, WWI and WWII Nissen huts and working historic farm.
The Museum is a popular venue for filming and has been used for Downton Abbey, Mary Queen of Scots, Call the Midwife, Horrible Histories, Midsomer Murders, The Suspicions of Mr Whicher, Grantchester, Britannia, David Walliams’ Jack and the Beanstalk Ever After and Hansel and Gretel, Drunk Histories and many more.
By pre-booking your friends, family or society group day trip you can take advantage of our special group rates.
Group rates are available on weekdays and selected weekends for groups of 10 or more and must be pre-booked by at least 48 hours before the visit date. School visits must be booked via our learning team on learningteam@coam.org.uk
Prices
Our 2023 adult group rate is £7.50 per person on weekdays and £8.50 at weekends.
A tour guide can be booked for £40 (max of 20 people per guide) a tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. A tour must be booked at least 2 weeks before your visit.
Uniformed group (Scouts, Brownies, Guides, cadets etc.) visit rates are £6.50 per child.
To qualify for group rates, groups must have pre-booked their tickets online 48 hours before their visit, any additional numbers after this time will need to book standard admission tickets. Group rates are only available on selected dates and exclude Premium Admission events.
